Shop

Hello everyone!

So I just wanted to share that I am hoping to set up a little shop here on my blog because I live right next to Little Tokyo, Koreatown, and Chinatown (LOL) so I constantly see amazing little Asian beauty products that are hard to find anywhere. I want to share these rare products with everyone.

I wonder how many of you are interested? It would be awesome if you could let me know if you are! If I have enough interest, I will definitely be setting up soon!

Thanks!

Most likely it will be in my blog sale: http://iAMminky3blogsale.blogspot.com/

How to Make Your Eyes Appear Bigger and Brighter

So, I got my first request a few days ago and I was so excited to finally upload a tutorial!
The request was how to make eyes that appear to look tired and small, appear bigger and brighter.
Here is the video:

The key to this look is highlighting and working with the eye liner well.

My Top 3 Drugstore Mascaras Review

My top picks:
1) Loreal Telescopic Explosion (my favorite)

The Loreal Telescopic Explosion has a cool spiked applicator that's perfect for getting at the inner lashes and the bottom lashes. This is a great mascara and doesn't really clump much for me. I love the precision and convenience of using this mascara.

2) Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express

The Colossal is great for volumizing lashes. It has a thick applicator so sometimes it is hard to work with the inner lashes without getting some mascara on the face, but it's still a great mascara. It really plumps those lashes up!

3) Maybelline Lash Stiletto

The Lash Stiletto is perfect for lengthening your lashes. If you are not looking for too much volume but super long lashes, this mascara is the perfect one for you! It has a longer wand and applicator than the Colassal and it is much thinner, as shown in the picture below.

There doesn't seem to be much clumping with the Lash Stiletto.

If you have problems with lashes clumping together due to mascara, I'd suggest using this little handy tool:
The little comb is great for combing the lashes and this can be found at any drugstore.

Hope this was helpful!

Makeup Brush Sets

So, I'm planning on buying a few makeup brush sets to do reviews on and try out.
Some brush sets that interest me at the moment are the Kirkland Borghese Brush Set and the Stigma Pretty in Pink Travel Brush Set.
All the brushes that I pretty much own are small-sizes so I don't really mind if I get the travel size or not. I actually prefer smaller brushes as it feels like I have more control. Bigger brushes seem to bulky for me or to control.
I don't know if I should just buy one set or both.
Anyone have any ideas? HAHA

I should be getting my E.L.F. powder brush (good for stippling) today and that means my Laneige review should be coming up soon! Stay tuned. :)

Choosing the Perfect Colors for Warm or Cool Toned Skin

Choosing the perfect colors for makeup and clothing to complement our skin is very difficult.
What's best to know is if you are cool or warm toned.
In order to figure out if you are cool or warm toned, check the colors of your veins on your wrist or under your arm. If they are bluish, then you are cool toned. It they are greenish, you are warm toned.

Here is a chart of some colors that look best with cool or warm tones:

Choosing the right colors can often help our complexion look brighter and our eyes can look awake. The wrong colors can make our skin look dull and can make us look tired.

Here is a chart of some skin colors that usually fit in either the cold tone or warm tone categories:

When choosing foundation, cool tones should choose more pink-based colors and warm tones should choose more yellow-based colors.
If you feel that you are balanced between cool or warm tones, choose neutral colors. If you don't know if you're cool or warm toned, then I would go for cool tone colors because that's more common and a safer bet.

When choosing clothing, pure white looks great for cool tones and ivory looks best with warm tones. Black looks really good on cool tones and blacks can make warm tones look washed out when it's close to the face. Of course there are ways for cool tones to pull off warm tone colors and the other way around is true too. :)

Laneige Haul

Hi everyone!

So yesterday, I just made a Laneige haul from Amore and here's what I bought:

I know it's a costly splurge so I'm hoping that it's worth the money! I put them on today and so far I like it! My face hasn't gotten oily at all (I have dry/combination skin) and the foundation blended in really well. :) I'm pretty happy with how it looked today. I got the foundation in #21 natural beige. I will be doing a review video really soon so please check for that. Much loves! -Minky
