Currently Watching: Secret Garden (시크릿 가든) Korean Drama

Hello everyone!

Many of my older blog followers will know that I sometimes devote some posts to my favorite Korean dramas that I am currently watching.  I know that this blog is mainly a beauty and fashion blog, but I like to change things up a little and talk about "other" things that have been interesting me.
Since I haven't done a Korean drama post in a long time, I decided to share with you all a recent/new drama that I really have been enjoying at the moment.

This drama is called Secret Garden and it features some big name actors and actresses like Hyunbin (starred in My Name is Kim Samsoon), Ha Ji Won (starred in Hwang Jin-i and Damo), Yun Sang Hyun (starred in My Fair Lady or Please Take Care of My Lady and Queen of Housewives), Kim Sarang, and Phillip Lee (this guy has a sexy voice and sexy English!).

What's interesting was that there were rumors that Janghyuk or Jay Park was going to be the leading actor.  Whoa! Jay Park! Any Jay Park fans out there? To be honest, I don't think Jay Park would have fit this role, but to see Jay Park act would have been awesome. :)

I was also excited to hear that Ha Jiwon was going to be the leading actress in this drama because she is my favorite Korean actress.  I've seen her act many different characters and in this drama, her character is someone that I've never seen her act before.

Anywhooo, I try to not make these posts "spoilers" or anything because that wouldn't be fun for you and me.

I am in love with the main actor, Kim Joo-won's (Hyunbin) house.  He is the rich and arrogant guy in this drama and there are so many moments where I just want to smack him! He is awfully full of himself and literally has what I would call the "prince-syndrome."

Fabulous ay? (This is just a part of his amazing mansion!)

All in all, I really recommend this drama because it has the perfect mixture of humor and some drama. Oh and I have to hint that there's a fairy tale-like characteristic to this drama... such as... hint hint... a magic spell (but I don't want to ruin what that spell is so yup!). ^o^

Everyone I know who's watching this drama is loving it so far! I must also include that it has a fantastic soundtrack! Excellent soundtracks are a big plus!

I rate this drama so far an A+!

Watch a music video with one of the songs from the drama sung by Baek Ji Young! It's AMAZING!

Currently Watching: Cinderella's Sister 신데렐라 언니 (Korean Drama) Episode 14

Since most of you are okay with me adding these random posts about Korean dramas, here I am with an update on the current hit drama: Cinderella's Sister (신데렐라 언니).
Yesterday, episode 14 aired and this drama seems to get more intense as each episode goes by.  With 6 more episodes to go, I keep sitting on the edge of my seat wanting to know what will happen.
The two main characters/lovers are Eun Jo (starring Moon Geun Young) and Ki Hoon (starring Chun Jung Myun).  I really like Moon Geun Young's makeup in this drama. (LOL. I wanted to somehow bring something beauty-related into this post).  She has a really nice way of pulling off a natural look with the use of simple eyeliner and neutral colors.
This isn't exactly the best picture of her, but I think she is such a natural beauty. Definitely one of my favorite Korean actresses!

So on with the story.... (warning: may be a spoiler)
I try not to spoil anything because I hate reading spoilers before I watch anything.  It ruins the fun! ^o^
As you may remember, I posted an entry a few weeks ago about how I started this drama. This drama is a Cinderella story with a twist since it focuses on the step-sister and her misery, rather than the "Cinderella" character.  Eun Jo is the step-sister and she feels mistreated by her own mother who is the "evil step-mother" in this story.  Her real mom seems to be treating her step-daughter nicer than her real daughter.  Eun Jo's step-sister is Hyo Sun who has been spoiled her entire life and is the "Cinderella" figure in the story.
However, as more episodes have unraveled in this drama, we see a change in story once again as Hyo Sun is slowly becoming the "Cinderella" character now.
I'm not going to spoil anymore of the story, just in case you may want to watch yourself, but Hyo Sun's step-mother has lately been showing her true and evil side.
To make things more complicated, both Hyo Sun and Eun Jo are in love with the same guy: Ki Hoon.
Ki Hoon and Eun Jo have a special relationship since 8 years before and their love for each other is difficult on Eun Jo who feels as if she needs to repay Hyo Sun for all her own mother's wrongdoings.
In episode 14, there was a really touching scene where Eun Jo and Ki Hoon had a private talk in the evening.
Their love for each other is so complicated and as always, Eun Jo seems to reject Ki Hoon's feelings against her true will.
It breaks my heart to see Ki Hoon so unhappy! Ki Hoon, please don't cry! I will give you a hug! ^o^

Like most Korean dramas, it always seems to be that there is a male character who's super nice and is always there and supporting the female lead character.  In this case, it's Jung Woo (starring Taecyeon 택연 from the group 2PM).
He's loved Eun Jo ever since he was really little.
I'm so torn in deciding which man Eun Jo should choose.  All I can say is, she is one lucky girl. :)

Hope you all didn't mind the somewhat of a picture heavy post.  I think I got a little carried away. ^o^
and I hope I didn't spoil too much for you. As I said before, I totally recommend this drama.

Currently Watching: Personal Taste 개인의 취향 (Korean Drama) Ep. 9 Update

This is not beauty related, but being the Korean drama fan that I am, I had to update on how much I'm loving the dramas that I'm currently watching. I posted before about a couple dramas that I've been obsessing over.  Since today is Wednesday, new episodes came out and luckily I found some time to fill my drama cravings today. LOL!

So to start off, I'm going to talk about how much I enjoyed today's episode of Personal Taste, which was episode 9.  There were so many scenes that I couldn't stop laughing.  Seriously, this drama makes me laugh SOO much.  I think my roommates probably think I'm crazy. xD

I'm going to include some pictures of my favorite scenes from the drama so I hope I don't spoil it for you.  So warning... may be a SPOILER! haha.
This scene was absolutely adorable since Gae In packed some kimbap (Korean roll) for Jin Ho.  He asked her if she made it and she gave a super funny response.
I wish I was the one feeding Jin Ho. ^o^
Then Gae In decided to dress up as a guy that day and she and Jin Ho went to take pictures at a photo booth.  This scene was too cute for words!
Their relationship is quite the strange one, but it's obvious that they have deep feelings for each other.
and hello Mr. Hottie! haha

I hope you all don't mind that I'm sticking in these random korean drama updates on this blog. LOL. Well, I guess since it's my blog, I can do whatever I want? JK. I really don't want to clutter this blog with too much randomness, but this episode really made me feel happy. :)

Currently Watching: Personal Taste 개인의 취향 (Korean Drama)

At first, I didn't want to start watching Personal Taste. Since it's a comedy, I felt like I was a little tired of comedies, believe it or not. LOL. I love comedies, but I wanted to watch something a little more mellow and sad. Personal Taste airs at the same time as Cinderella's Sister so the competition between those two is pretty intense. I wanted to be loyal only to Cinderella's Sister, but I was actually sucked into watching Personal Taste since many of my friends recommended it. Highly recommended it.. to be exact!
What can I say now? I am loving this drama! Kind of getting slightly obsessed with it as much as Cinderella's Sister. The storyline is too cute. It's about Gae In who's a funny girl, but very innocent and pretty much gets used by many people. She gets betrayed by her boyfriend and best friend, but she's too nice to really do much about it. Then comes Jin Ho who Gae In misunderstands as being gay and she feels comfortable around him like he is her best friend.  The relationship between these two seems to blossom every moment they're together. Oh, I think I forgot... Jin Ho goes along with this misunderstanding since he needs an excuse to live at Gae In's place. The details, I don't want to spoil, but it's really funny!
I think I've laughed from beginning to the sixth episode so far! So hilarious!!!! xD

Currently Watching: Cinderella's Sister 신데렐라 언니 (Korean Drama)

Even in the midst of being very busy, I've found some very little spare time to fit in a couple hours to watch this awesome Korean drama: Cinderella's Sister/신데렐라 언니
It's so good. I am a big fan of Moon Geun Young who plays the main role of Eun Jo.
The storyline is super interesting since it's a modern day adaptation of the classic story of Cinderella, but it's a twist and unique story since the story focuses on Cinderella's step-sister who struggles because she has a dark past and cannot accept the fact that her own mother loves "Cinderella" more than her. Eun Jo is the step-sister and basically gets mistreated by Cinderella.
Since this drama has started airing since March 31st, it's fairly new and so far there are only 4 episodes out. It's honestly hard waiting for the new episodes since this drama airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Korea, but I guess it's better that way since I'm so busy and probably shouldn't really be spending too much time watching korean dramas!! LOL.
Ahhh two more days until a new episode!! Cannot wait!!!
They even released a music video before the drama started airing.  Check it out!!
